Chest lock with key guides

Malleable iron. Forged chest lid of lap-welded, riveted, and welded iron bands. The eight-bolt mechanism is joined with curved springs and guides. Individual tension rods are connected with clips and screwed and riveted to the support plate. The key case is composed of a forged iron plate.

Markings: Stamped ā€œ1754ā€, engraved with the monogram ā€œJ Sā€
